About Me

Daisies and Delights is single-handedly run by myself, Daisy Bradbury, a 17-year-old girl living in England. It started as a blog solely dedicated to beauty but has since grown and now features a variety of different topics. There is definitely something for everyone, whether you like book reviews, chatty lifestyle posts or hearing about my current makeup favourites.

I am currently in my second year of college, where I am studying English Literature, English Language, Psychology and also doing an Extended Project Qualification. My subject choices stemmed from being a lover of writing, literature and the English language in general, which blogging constantly for almost 4 years definitely helped me realise. Academics are very important to me and I dedicate a lot of effort into my studies, but I still try and involve myself in hobbies and other activities outside of the classroom to keep me motivated and happy.

If you hadn’t already guessed by the large amount of book-related posts on my blog, I’m a huge bookworm and have been all my life. From reading Enid Blyton’s The Secret Seven as a child to my obsession with The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare as a young teenager, my love of reading has always been evident and I love to have the ability to sit for hours and get lost in a good book. With this profound love of reading came a passion to write my own stories, and since the age of 9 or 10 I’ve written many different stories and poems, the most successful being 20,000 words of a fantasy novel during NaNoWriMo in November, 2015.

Performing is another huge hobby of mine, whether it’s dancing, singing or acting, and so I’ve attended the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts for the past six years in their part-time academy. This has allowed me to improve my skills and get involved in exciting opportunities such as showcases, competitions, exams and workshops. This is definitely a side to my life that I rarely share on my blog yet it’s an important part of my life.

As I’ve said many times before, I blog simply because I love it. Upon starting this in February 2014, I could never have imagined that my blog would blossom into something that I’m so proud of and invested in – I was surprised that I even committed to blogging for a month! The increase in followers and recognition by popular brands has definitely been the icing on top of the cake, but what makes blogging worthwhile is the happiness that it brings to myself and my readers. I love sharing my thoughts and opinions with such a loving and diverse audience, and I’m looking forward to many more posts in the future.

Thank you very much for reading my blog, whether you’ve been here since day 1 or have just arrived.

Love from Daisy x
