I've always enjoyed writing and had been tempted in the past to start a diary to document my life and thoughts. After discovering beauty and fashion blogs, I knew that I wanted to start one, but I also wanted to include posts about myself and my life, like I would in a diary. I didn't start one for a while, as I thought I'd be too young and inexperienced, but I stumbled upon some blogs that were also ran by teenagers, which proved to me that I could start a blog.
What do you use to take photos and how do you edit them?
For taking my photos, I simply use the camera on my iPhone 4s. Although some people may say that the quality isn't the best, I find that it's pretty good and also convenient, as I always have my phone with me. For editing photos, I use the apps Aviary, PixlrExpress and PicsArt, as well as Photoshop, Canva and Fotor on my laptop.
What are your tips for having good skin?
I don't have great skin, but I know that the first step you should take is to form a skincare routine that is suited towards your skin type and works for you. The key is to do this regularly, as you will notice your skin gradually improving. You should also drink a lot of water and eat lots of healthy foods to ensure that your skin looks the best it possibly can.
Where do you get inspiration for your blog?
I get inspiration for my posts from products that I own, discussions on social media and other blog posts, but I make sure to never copy them. For the design of my blog, a lot of it wasn't inspired and was just from me playing around with Photoshop, as well as getting ideas from Pinterest.
Why is your blog called Daisies and Delights?
I really wanted my blog to have alliteration in it, as I feel like that makes it catchy and sound creative. I picked daisies because I love the flower and it is partially my name, which I wanted to be somewhere in the blog title. I used the word delights because I didn't want to limit my blog to only beauty or fashion, so there are lots of little delights here and there.
What items would you recommend from the drugstore?
There are so many bargains in the drugstore, but one of the things that stands out to me is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. It is extremely pigmented, has great coverage and works well for only £4.19. I also really like the Bourjois Cream Blusher in the shade 03, which is blendable, look gorgeous when applied and I talk about a lot. I was thinking about writing a blog post about drugstore picks in the future if you'd like to know more.
Will you ever make YouTube videos?
Honestly, making YouTube videos is something that I'd love to do in the future. Of course, I wouldn't give up blogging, but I feel like videos would be great for accompanying my posts and giving my readers more. I'll admit that I find it quite scary and I probably don't have enough confidence to make videos now, but it's a possibility for the future.
Are there any upcoming projects on your blog?
As of now, there isn't anything major coming up, but that could easily change. I can tell you that there will be a few new series' on my blog, as well as a popular one returning, but I don't want to reveal them right away. I can also tell you that the quality of my posts will be improving throughout 2015 and I'll be blogging about a lot of different things. Lush is renowned for their wide variety of bath products and are often hyped about by other bloggers. Until recently, I'd never tried anything by them, but I received the Festive Friends set for Christmas and was eager to use everything. I decided to choose the Butter Bear first, as I had heard a lot of great things about it and wanted something relaxing and soothing. I really enjoyed using this product, so I decided to share my opinion with you!
The Butter Bear Bath Ballistic is the Christmas version of the Butterball Ballistic, which is found in Lush all year round. It is a unique bath bomb, in a sense that it doesn't contain any glitter, colours or intense aromas, unlike many others from the festive range. Instead, it is made with cocoa butter, making it soothing and beneficial for the skin. One of the main features is that it includes all natural ingredients and safe synthetics, explaining why it isn't coloured or has a distinctive smell. This also means that it is appropriate for people with sensitive skin and eczema, as it isn't harsh and soothes rather than irritates.
There are two main ingredients, which are cocoa butter and ylang ylang oil. The cocoa butter is responsible for softening the skin and eliminating feelings of sensitivity, dryness and irritation. The ylang ylang oil, however, is often used in aromatherapy to treat stress and depression. It does this by relaxing the nervous system, relieving your body of anger, panic and fear. If you struggle with any of these then I would highly recommend trying out this product.
Once the bath bomb was immersed into the water, it rapidly started fizzing and instantly released its soothing vanilla scent. Although it didn't take long to dissolve, it left a layer of foamy bubbles. I also noticed that tiny beads of cocoa butter were floating on the surface of the water, which are added to moisturise the skin.
When trialling this bath bomb, I could feel the effects of the cocoa butter on my skin straight away, leaving it softer and feeling better. The absence of a bright colour or glitter like in other Lush bath bombs didn't bother me, as the cloudy water added to the relaxing atmosphere that the Butter Bear had created. The light scent of vanilla alongside the bubbles made me feel at ease and really enjoy using this product.
Overall, I think this is a great product that is beneficial for so many people and targets many different things. From dry skin to stress and eczema to fear, this bath bomb has something to offer for everyone. Alongside its soothing qualities and gorgeous smell, this product will help you to unwind and feel calm.

The Butter Bear Bath Ballistic is the Christmas version of the Butterball Ballistic, which is found in Lush all year round. It is a unique bath bomb, in a sense that it doesn't contain any glitter, colours or intense aromas, unlike many others from the festive range. Instead, it is made with cocoa butter, making it soothing and beneficial for the skin. One of the main features is that it includes all natural ingredients and safe synthetics, explaining why it isn't coloured or has a distinctive smell. This also means that it is appropriate for people with sensitive skin and eczema, as it isn't harsh and soothes rather than irritates.
There are two main ingredients, which are cocoa butter and ylang ylang oil. The cocoa butter is responsible for softening the skin and eliminating feelings of sensitivity, dryness and irritation. The ylang ylang oil, however, is often used in aromatherapy to treat stress and depression. It does this by relaxing the nervous system, relieving your body of anger, panic and fear. If you struggle with any of these then I would highly recommend trying out this product.
Once the bath bomb was immersed into the water, it rapidly started fizzing and instantly released its soothing vanilla scent. Although it didn't take long to dissolve, it left a layer of foamy bubbles. I also noticed that tiny beads of cocoa butter were floating on the surface of the water, which are added to moisturise the skin.
When trialling this bath bomb, I could feel the effects of the cocoa butter on my skin straight away, leaving it softer and feeling better. The absence of a bright colour or glitter like in other Lush bath bombs didn't bother me, as the cloudy water added to the relaxing atmosphere that the Butter Bear had created. The light scent of vanilla alongside the bubbles made me feel at ease and really enjoy using this product.
Overall, I think this is a great product that is beneficial for so many people and targets many different things. From dry skin to stress and eczema to fear, this bath bomb has something to offer for everyone. Alongside its soothing qualities and gorgeous smell, this product will help you to unwind and feel calm.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - a cult classic and a must-have for me. This product can well and truly cover all blemishes, redness and dark under-eye circles, making it really handy to use. It doesn't look cakey or patchy and it tends to last for quite a long time.
MUA Powder - a powder is necessary when I'm doing dance or sports, as it keeps my makeup in place and stops it from moving and transferring. This is a great one that is the right colour and doesn't break the bank at only £1.
Sleek Face Form Palette - a travel-friendly product that supplies you with a beautiful blush, bronzer and highlighter. All three of these have a soft, creamy texture and apply really well. The pigmentation starts off being fairly sheer but can be built up if necessary. These are great products to use if you want to create a natural yet flawless skin look.
Bourjois Cream Blush - a beautiful cream blush that has been declared as my favourite cheek product. It has a cream to powder formulation which I think looks gorgeous on the skin. It applies smoothly and evenly, with blendability being great. If you're looking for a blusher suitable for any occasion, this is worth a try.
MUA Blusher - a cheaper alternative that is insanely pigmented and looks lovely when applied. Unlike the other blushers, this one is matte, meaning it looks more natural and I like to wear this for school. I didn't realise how many cheek products I had in my makeup bag until I came to do this post, but all of them are really good.
Avon Eye Primer - a quick way to remove any discolouration from your eyes and ensure that your eyeshadow lasts all day. This is actually the first eye primer that I've tried, so I can't compare it to others, but I have to admit that it's really good and my eye makeup stays looking fresh and in place, even when I'm doing dance or sports.
Maybelline Colour Tattoo - a gel to cream eyeshadow that I have in a gorgeous, shimmery bronze colour. This applies easily and is insanely pigmented yet still blendable for a less harsh look. This is perfect to wear either as a base for eyeshadow or on its own, looking really nice either way. If you want something that will be quick but look like you've put in a lot of effort, I'd opt for this.
Barry M Natural Glow Palette - a palette that contains all of the basic eyeshadows and even a pretty blush. The packaging is cardboard and slim, like that of a Stila palette, meaning it fits really easily inside my makeup bag. It features colours perfect for highlighting, base colours and for the crease, meaning it can be used to create a variety of different looks.
Avon Infinitize Mascara - a brown mascara that makes my eyelashes look lovely every time I wear it. I have this in brown as it looks a bit more natural yet still makes my eyes stand out. This mascara makes my eyelashes extremely voluminous and longer, but can also be used lightly for a less bold look.
Maybelline Great Lash Mascara - a jet black mascara that is perfect for bottom lashes and more detailed work. This is my other mascara of choice at the moment, which I've really enjoyed using. For someone with small eyes like me, the tiny wand is great for covering each lash with mascara. It stays put all day and doesn't smudge at all.
NYC City Proof Lip Crayon - a glossy nude lip crayon that is great for a sheer wash of colour. I usually wear this for school, as it creates a really pretty colour on my lips that isn't too noticeable or bold. Although it isn't extremely pigmented, it can also be used as a gloss on top of lipstick.
Models Own Lip Stix - a pretty bubblegum pink that looks gorgeous applied. This is matte, so the only downside is it tends to cling to the dry parts of my lips. Aside from this, it is a beautiful colour that I find myself wearing a lot. I usually apply a bit of this and blend it out with my finger for a more subtle look, as well as applying a lipgloss on top.
Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick - a berry lip is something that I haven't had the confidence to wear in the past, but I've been trying to wear one more recently, thanks to one of my resolutions. This lip crayon is a lovely colour that is great for autumn and winter. It is really glossy but is still quite pigmented and can be built up.

I'm back today with another extremely requested and anticipated style of post, it's an interview! I always enjoy doing these posts, as they are a great way to get to know some of my readers and fellow bloggers. This time, I have interviewed Madison from Mads Maybe. She's new to our community, but I love her blog none-the-less. I'd really recommend checking out her blog after reading this interview!
1) How long have you been blogging for and why did you choose to start a blog? I actually just started blogging in December after much consideration and hesitation. Blogging is something that I have always wanted to do and when I started college, I thought that would be a really great time to start blogging as well. Once I adjusted to college life, I started my blog and it is currently still just a work in progress, but I am hoping I will find my place and establish it more soon. My goal for my blog is to have a place where I can express my opinions and share my experiences, but I also really enjoy communicating with other bloggers.
2) Have you always liked fashion and beauty or is that something that started when you made your blog? Although I don't really classify my blog as fashion or beauty because I didn't want to limit my posts, I have always been into both fashion and beauty. I am a big fan of Teen Vogue and I love going shopping for clothes. I am forever getting my hair cut like different celebrities or finding outfits that I can't wait to recreate on Pinterest. I would really like to start incorporating this into my blog somehow, I just haven't quite determined which direction I will be going in.
3) What products or items can't you live without and use on a regular basis? My favourite products are very basic and something I like to consider my beauty staples. I'm obsessed with Baby Lips products. I love both Dr. Rescue and the glitter ones because they both provide the subtle colour that I'm seeking and repair damage from the wind and cold. I also use Maybelline Great Lash (non-waterproof) mascara on a regular basis. I don't like waterproof as much because it is a hassle to remove. Another item I can't live without that isn't exactly beauty related is my Vera Bradley planner. I know Lilly Pulitzer and several other top designers have their own planners out but I've always been a loyal Vera Bradley fan and their design just works for me. I would die without organisation!
4) Are there any products that you're hoping to try out? There are several products that I'm hoping to try out. I would love to get the Urban Decay Naked 3 eyeshadow palette to work with. I've had this product used on me but it would be nice to have it myself and experiment with different looks. I've also been interested to try the Too Faced brow defining kit. Finally, I'm constantly experimenting with different face masks, creams, and scrubs so any new one that comes out, I most likely want to try it.
5) What posts do you enjoy writing and have the most fun with? I definitely most enjoy writing blog posts about my own life, goals, and plans. I just really find it easy to share information like that because it means a lot to me and flows naturally. I also think its fun to connect with followers on topics like these because we can compare and contrast our lives and it's a really great way to make blogging friends. I've had a lot of fun with a post inspired by the Day Zero Project called 101 Things in 1001 Days. It is a list of specific goals that you hope to accomplish in the next 1001 days. I really enjoyed creating my list and reading other people's lists.
6) Do you have any exciting blog-related projects coming up soon? At the moment I am adjusting to new college classes and haven't had much time to consider projects for my blog. I do hope to be coming up with some interesting posts soon and I will definitely be sharing my college experience frequently. This palette, a cult classic in the beauty community, is one that I've been wanting to try out for a long time now. When I received this for Christmas, I was thrilled and couldn't wait to start using it. After experimenting with it for a few weeks, I thought it was about time to share my thoughts and opinions with you guys, in the form of a product review. I hope you like it!

Burnout - a rosy, pink satin that has to be my favourite eyeshadow from the palette. It has a smooth texture, can easily be applied and looks gorgeous on the lid, especially complimenting blue and green eyes.
Limit - a neutral, dusty rose. This is a great transition shade and can also be used to warm up the outer eye and crease.
Buzz - a warm coppered rose colour that is darker than dust. This has a soft, buttery texture and a beautiful eyeshadow to wear either on its own or alongside other eyeshadows.
Trick - a shimmery copper eyeshadow with gold micro-glitter. This is similar in texture and application to buzz. This is quite versatile, as it would look nice with any of these eyeshadows or paired with more neutral browns and taupes.
Nooner - a medium rosy plum colour. This is the perfect crease colour from the collection and it is pigmented and blendable. This is another one of my favourites.
Liar - a medium brown shimmery eyeshadow that has warm undertones and a metallic finish. Although it is a bit powdery, it is very pigmented and perfect for those people who adore brown eyeshadows.
Factory - a dark brown with warm undertones and a pearled finish. This is similar in appearance to liar and is very shimmery. I think this would look beautiful in the outer corners and would draw attention to your eye colour.
Mugshot - a silvery taupe with warm undertones and a metallic finish. It has excellent colour payoff and could either be worn in the outer corners of the eye or on its own for a beautiful outcome.
Darkside - a dark purpled taupe that is cool-toned and has a pearled finish. It has a soft texture and can easily be blended. This eyeshadow would look especially gorgeous in a smokey eye.
Blackheart - a deep burgundy, which almost looks black, with bright red micro-glitter. This is a beautiful eyeshadow but it's one that is out of my comfort zone.
Overall, I absolutely love this palette and it's one that I'll definitely be using a lot. All of the eyeshadows are beautiful and I'm looking forward to creating various different looks with them. School is upon us yet again, as we are beginning our first term of 2015. I thought this would be an ideal time to share with you some of my beauty suggestions for school, especially for those of you who aren't allowed to wear a lot of makeup.
For school, especially one that doesn't tolerate makeup, foundation will probably be too heavy on your skin and noticeable, so I'd suggest using a concealer instead. Apply a small amount, focusing on any blemishes and redness, and buff it into your skin to give a natural, flawless look. To set it, use a translucent powder that will keep your makeup in place and stop it from wearing off throughout the day. This is especially helpful if you will be doing sports or dance and isn't at all noticeable.
If you're looking a bit pale and washed out after the concealer, you may want to apply some bronzer. Choose something with very little or no shimmer, as that can be an immediate giveaway that you are wearing makeup, whereas you want to look naturally bronzed. Choose a colour that is slightly darker than you skin tone and lightly dust it all over your face to add warmth.

I thought I'd kick off 2015 with something I don't usually post on Daisies and Delights,which is a book review. I love reading and it is one of my hobbies, but I never share that on my blog. I received Girl Online, the debut novel by Zoe Sugg, for Christmas and it was a book that I really enjoyed and could relate to. Since she is also a beauty and fashion blogger, I thought you guys might want to hear what I thought of it.
When I first heard about Zoe writing a book, I wasn't sure what to expect. Part of me, the majority I'd say, was really excited as I loved reading her blog and watching her videos. She has a bubbly, unique personality which I hoped would be shown in her book. However, I was a bit sceptical, as she hadn't written a book before, so I didn't have a clue what to expect. Here's my opinions and feedback on the book Girl Online:
'Penny has a secret. Under the alias Girl Online, Penny blogs her hidden feelings about friendships, boys, her crazy family and the panic attacks that have begun to take over her life. When things go from bad to worse, her family whisks her away to New York, where she meets Noah: a gorgeous, guitar-strumming American. Suddenly Penny is falling in love - and capturing every moment of it on her blog. But Noah has a secret too. One that threatens to ruin Penny's cover - and her closest friendship - forever.'
Personally, I found Girl Online to be a really enjoyable book. The main character, Penny, is relatable and has a lot of qualities that make her seem like an actual person, not a fictional character. I like how Zoe used her own personality and experiences to enhance the book, such as Penny living in Brighton and running a blog. This meant that it could be more detailed and accurate, as Zoe had experienced these things already.
Each character mentioned was developed and had both positive and negative attributes which contribute to the storyline. We learn that everyone has their flaws and this makes the book come to life a bit more, as everyone isn't stereotypically perfect fictional characters. Also, each character is unique and has their own features that impact Penny's life and the story.
The plot was interesting and there was always something new going on, which I felt was good as there was never a dull moment. There was a few moments that I felt were predictable and I knew what was going to happen, but that is often hard to avoid, especially as I know what to look out for after reading so many books. Despite this, there was a huge plot-twist towards the end that I certainly wasn't expecting and drawn me into the book further.
A huge role in the book is how it incorporates themes that are important to teenagers and can help them, such as anxiety, cyber-bullying, travel, family issues, friendships and many more things. Not only are these things discussed in the book, but advice is given and it reassures anyone reading Girl Online that other people suffer with those things too.
